Sorry it has been such a long time since our last blog post! It was been quite a busy fall in the Kiwi classroom and we are knowing gearing up for the upcoming Holidays. The children have been busy learning all about the Holidays and are not gingerbread men experts! During language group today, the children used a three button device to choose which body part they wanted to put on the giant gingerbread man. After they made their choice, they placed the body part on and once the gingerbread man was complete we made him run, run, run! The children absolutely love making the gingerbread man run run as fast as he can! Don't forget this Friday is a Family School Partnership Day, so there is no school, but come and join us at 9:30 to make gingerbread houses if you can!
Farm & Trick or Treating Here are a few pictures from the farm field trip & trick or treating! It was such a gorgeous day at the farm on Friday and we were so glad to see so many of our friends there :) Trick or treating this morning was a success and the children have LOTS of goodies in their backpacks! Here are some photos of yesterday's music class with Ms. Paula. The children LOVE Thursday mornings because they know Ms. Paula is coming. She sings such fun songs and the children jump right in! We played on the drums yesterday and shook the egg shakers. When Ms. Paula leaves, she sings a goodbye song and lets every child play the piano. Playing the piano is their favorite part. We certainly have a class full of musicians :) Hi everyone! For those of you who are new, welcome and to those who are returning, welcome back! We are so excited for the new school year and are glad you are following along for this fun adventure. We were formerly known as the "Terrific 3's," however, we will now be the "Kiwis." We are so excited about our 6 sweet and precious kiwis that have joined our class this year. We have been spending last week and this week getting to know each child. We just cannot handle the cuteness we have in our class this year :) We have had our first music therapy group and movement group so far. The children are in love with both! They are so engaged in the activities and it's wonderful to see that! We did our first paint activity yesterday. Again, the children had a blast with it and really loved when they got to put the paint on their hands! I will try to post a new blog weekly with a little update of what the children have been doing in the classroom along with pictures (it may be more like every 1.5 weeks, but we will see how things go). We are looking forwards to a great 2016-2017 school year! -Ms. Kelsey & Ms. Leanna Happy May everyone! It is so hard to believe that it is already May and the end of the school year is right around the corner! Where in the world has the time gone?!? It was a great April learning all about Spring things. We finished up the month dressing up like bugs during last weeks Language Group. In Music Group, the children have been working hard playing their recorders and kazoos. They are certainly going to be putting on an adorable end of the year program for you! This month, we will be learning all about the beach and summer! This is by far my favorite theme of the year! We hope everyone can make it to muffins with moms on Friday @ 3:00 pm on the playground! Today, the sweet women from the Green Thumb Garden Club came to see our new school and help the children plant flowers. This is a yearly tradition at Frankie Lemmon and it is such a fun one! The women provide everything from the pots to the bulbs. The children get to go outside and help scoop soil, place the bulb in the pot and water it. Ms. Hanvey had a communication board that the children were also able to look at during the planting. It's always so fun to store the bulbs outside of the classroom window and watch them grow! Once they have started to grow here at school, your child will bring it home and you can continue to care for it together at home! We have had quite the bust week in the 3's! The children have been busy learning all about transportation, painting with cars and playing with our new class pet (the horse seen in pictures below). The horse was donated to the school and it has been a hit! The horse moves it's head, neighs and munches on a carrot when you feed it to him. The children's favorite part about the horse is being able to "ride" it. We've been hearing quite a few "giddy up" and "yee haws" in the classroom this week :) We finish off transportation this week with a fun filled transportation day tomorrow! Today in music, the children were introduced to something new for the first time (also seen in pictures below). Yes, you're seeing correctly, each child has his/her own recorder! Ms. Paula is working hard on teaching the children to blow into the recorder so that it makes a noise. She also did a lot of start and stop activities with the recorders. All the teachers could think about during music was playing hot cross buns on the recorders :). Hope everyone has a great Saint Patrick's Day! The children had some special lucky charms for snack today! Here are a few pictures from the last couple of days! We have been busy learning all about transportation! The therapy dog Daisy came to visit us on Monday. She gave us lots of kisses! We have been enjoying these past couple of warm days by eating snack outside and swinging on the new tire swing that just got installed. We are so ready for the warm weather to be here for good! |
